黙示戦隊スカイファイター
Apocalypse Sentai Skyfighter

"I can't let the Apocalypse Empire destroy this world like they did to my own... Skycomputer! Find me five teenagers with fighting spirit!" --Commander Oji

Irrational Fear

Betrayal in the ranks of the Apocalypse Empire! And can Errol save the other Skyfighters from Fear Sensei's new and improved Dream Machine?

Summary

In Apocalie's lair, the two villains are arguing. Apocalie insists that there's no more time to waste; Kime-Ra accuses her of being wreckless, saying that he'll go over her head and have her deposed. When she's sure she can't convince him otherwise, she shrugs and makes a signal... and from the shadows, Fear Sensei stabs him in the back! She asks how the plan is proceeding; he explains that the new Dream Machine is fully functional, and will serve as a perfect distraction for her.

Meanwhile, the Skyfighters are busy fighting Fira. They engage the shieldbreaker, but she seems to be doing well, managing to knock Errol out cold, falling through a storm drain. Eventually the tables start to turn; then Fear Sensei shows up, unleashing a gas on all five of them! They struggle to remain conscious, but fail. When Errol comes to and returns to the street, the city has fallen under a dark spell; he thinks he sees the Skyfighters all lying around him, dead. Refusing to believe it, he talks to Oji on the radio and confirms that it's the work of Fear Sensei.

Oji tells him that he hasn't been able to contact the other Skyfighters, and suggests that he come back to base so they can figure out what to do. Errol brushes him off, saying there's no time; he heads off to the old tower where Fear Sensei's held out before, telling Skycomputer to fire up the Dream Machine that they recovered the last time. On the way, he bumps into Fira. They fight again, and once again, she knocks him out-- this time, carrying him off with her! She delivers him to Fear Sensei's new lair, where he sits atop the new Dream Machine, connected to the other four Skyfighters; suddenly, Skyfighter Green flings himself out of Fira's grasp, revealing that it was a trap, and starts to fight her, this time winning! Fear Sensei is shocked and baffled.

Out of the shadows, the real Skyfighter Green emerges, while Fira staggers and claws frustratedly at what's really empty air. He boast to the furious Fear Sensei that they have a Dream Machine of their own. He fumes, but announces that he has a far greater power at his hands; he falls limp, and Skyfighter Blue steps out from the clutch of the machine... attacking Green and taunting him with the echo of Fear Sensei's voice! No match for "her" and unwilling to hurt Alex underneath, he gets thorough thrashed, until he has an epiphany, and blasts the unconscious Fear Sensei instead, right in the head. The other four Skyfighters fall out of the machine, and Blue passes out.

Back at base, everything has returned to normal... except for Alex, who remains completely unresponsive! Kari frets at her bedside, as Errol reveals the bad news from Skycomputer: even after he killed Fear Sensei, she somehow still remains under his thrall!

Quotes

Kime-Ra: "Do you have any idea how much damage that would do, just to make things easier for you? I won't stand it! I'll go over your head... no, I'll have your head! I've put with you for long enough, I'll have you deposed for this!"
Apocalie: "Aw, really? Is there no way I can change your mind?"
Kime-Ra: "Forget about it!"
Apocalie: "I was afraid you were going to say that..."
[ Apocalie gestures throat slitting; from the shadows, Fear Sensei stabs Kime-Ra right in the back. ]
Kime-Ra: [ Dying. ] "Trai... tor..."
Apocalie: "Ohhh, get it? 'Afraid' of that? You're just what I've needed, Fear Sensei!"

Oji: "And do what? Just run in there half-cocked? Do you even have a plan?!"
Green: "Of course I do! I always have a plan! I just, uh, don't know what it is yet. But it'll be fine!"
Oji: "We're doomed. Listen to yourself."
Green: "Sorry, what was that? I wasn't paying attention. Actually, you know what, don't answer that. Hey, I've got it, can you patch through Skycomputer?"

Fear Sensei: "Why are you..."
[ The real Skyfighter Green steps out of the shadows. ]
Green: "I have to say, as much as you are a thoroughly despicable villain who does terrible things to people... I kinda see the appeal! That is really funny to watch, her thrashing like that, thinking she's fighting her fears. I mean, mind you, I have no idea what her greatest fear really is, but I guess getting her butt kicked by me's gotta be a pretty scary thought, right? And judging by the look on your face, I'm guessing you forgot what should be incredibly obvious by now: we have a Dream Machine too."
Fear Sensei: "You really think you've gotten the better of me?!"
[ Long pause. ]
Green: "Yeah, actually. Pretty much. Man, I love it when that happens."
Fear Sensei: "Fool... can yours do this?" [ Transfers to Skyfighter Blue. ]

Kari: "Please... don't tell me we've lost her... again..."
